Cool art link

This just in, Vatican web designers have brainstorm, do something right.

Check this neat 360 panorama view of the Sistine Chapel.

(Actually, now that I think of it, I guess if the view is for every direction in three dimensions, it would be way more than 360 degrees. But I'm not math-girl, so anyone who knows can drop a note in the commbox.)

Cool huh? And the resolution is pretty good, I thought.

Oooo nice.

Spherical angles are measured in steradians, where 4π steradians make a full sphere. For example, the continent of Asia is approximately 1 steradian over the sphere of the Earth. This is hardly a convenient unit of measure, so even professionals don't use it unless they really have to.

You can get the stuff you need to make your own panoramashere.

Dunno about Baroque though. Parts of the Sistine are great, other parts not so much.

But you can't walk up and down the room to get a better look at some of the stuff on the side walls.

What' really neat is to rotate your finger on the pad really fast and watch the Sistine chapel spin and spin. Am I the only one to admire the floor? The last time I was there I looked at nothing but the floor.

Does the floor have that gaudy "Copyright" symbol? Other than that, it is a handsome floor.

I also like the lack of pews.

I LOve cosmetesque floors.

I think the floor is the best part of Mary Major.
