Canonise Chesterton?

Shee, I don't know.

Maybe if, during the examination of his work in the Process, the Vatican guy went through everything he wrote and counted up the number of subordinate clauses, and found they were in the same range as Newman's we could think about it.

After all, it's the prose style that counts. Right?

I think it's the accounts of his character by his *enemies* that makes me think he's holy.

Didn't realize you had, ah, "issues" with Cdl. Newman...

... yeah, there's that prose style, but that alone shouldn't be an impediment to canonization.

Chesterton has about as much chance of being cannonized as Queen Isabella.

I don't have any particular devotion to Newman but why do you seem to be less than thrilled about his possible cannonization?
