...and thick and fast they came at last, and more and more and more...

Oysters Anglicans welcome offer from Rome

...all hopping through the frothy waves
and scrambling to the shore...

Apart from the Walrus and the Carpenter, Lewis Carroll's verse just seems so sweetly apropos. (And so many of them seem to be about seafood. Odd.)

How doth the little crocodile
Improve his shining tail,
And pour the waters of the Nile
On every golden scale!

How cheerfully he seems to grin
How neatly spreads his claws,
And welcomes little fishes in,
With gently smiling jaws!

I feel so welcomed! And affirmed!

Apropos in what way?

Perhaps because you see Anglicans as spineless and tending to plumpness?

As a former Episcopalian, just curious to know.

"...Anglicans as spineless and tending to plumpness?"

you know, I hadn't thought of that. But they do look rather tasty now that you mention it.
