Sail

OK, remember I said the material object I want most in the whole wide world is an Aeroscraft 200-ton capacity variable-buoyancy cargo airship?

Well, I think I've found the model I want.

To hell with Planet Earth.

Now I just need a company to build one that has an anti-modern aesthetic sense. I don't know about you but I'm sick of all our technology design looking as though it belongs on the set of Space 1999.

Guys, it's not 1976 any more! OK?

(At first I wanted one of these, a Lockheed P-791, but the ballast problem and the need for ground crew and a runway would really put a damper on my go-anywhere-in-the-world chosen lifestyle.)

People that love those things really love those things. A friend of mine used to fly helicopters for the sheriff's dept out here in SoCal. He was offered a job flying lighter-than-air craft in St Louis. Was it an Aeroscraft or a Lockheed or something else? Damfino. I just thought it was a blimp. In any event, said it was his dream job to fly one of those. He was off to St Louis in the blink of an eye.

He was a pretty fair piper, too.

Cheers,

Ugh, it's NOT a "blimp". A blimp is just a slightly more sophisticated hot air balloon with an enclosed gondola.

An airship (sigh) is a rigid structure with the cargo space/ living areas built in.

Pay attention.

Oh, I think I've caught the Airship disease!
