Wow. I noticed liturgical hand embroidery, amongst other things. Do you know, dear Hilary, of any nuns doing hand-made liturgical lace?
I think that there is quite a bit of that kind of enterprise in monasteries around Italy.
I have discovered a wealth of monastic treasures still thriving in this country. There is a long-running series on Italian television of one-hour documentaries showing a day in the life of the cloistered monastries. There are dozens of them, and I think the plan is to make one for every house in the country.
