I imagine it'll be the only one,

So, I'll just enjoy it...

Second Leonardo copy framed and living free in North Carolina.

  1. It's lovely, just lovely. :)

D.V., no reason it should be the only one. I like your idea of using this as a yearly gauge. I can see it now: collectable, dated HJMW copies of the Leonardo sketch!

The painting looks like an Angelic human especially with the background. It has a sense of wonder and a mysterious transfiguration. And the Frame is very beautiful as well. Also your furnishings and rooms look very comfortable.

  5. It's not a painting, but a drawing done in sepia charcoal pencil and is a copy of a drawing by Leonardo da Vinci.

Copying master drawings and paintings is a big part of the programme I'm following.

    Hilary,

Okay, I may be seeing things, but I swear you had a post up about William Wilberforce and the Bombastic Broadcasting Corporation not ten minutes ago.

Hopefully, you took it down because someone promised you some pennies for it in the few minutes it was up. At any rate, I was just going to add that no doubt the animosity of that distressed young lady was fueled by the knowledge that Wilberforce wasn't only a Christian, but that after his death, most of his progeny joined that tower of reaction - gasp! - the Church of Rome. Not only that, but his one child remaining an Anglican was a bishop infamous among liberals for handing Darwin's head to Thomas Huxley in that famous debate.

After 150 years, it's apparently payback time.

  8. Yeah, I finished it and realised that I had been ranting about something I didn't really give a damn about. Just ranting for the sake of ranting. Then I realised I was really tired and needed to lie down and sleep. Which I did.

I would be very pleased to have that drawing framed on my wall. Good work, Hilary!
