Yea, the sparrow hath found an house, and the swallow a nest for herself, where she may lay her young, even thine altars, O Lord of hosts, my King, and my God.

What the Duke and Duchess Tart Cambridge
Should have said to each other today...
No, I'm not happy for them. The whole thing is a repulsive farce, a mockery of everything true and good. A scandal from beginning to end.
I was hoping they would have to get down on their knees and publicly confess their sin (premarital co-habitation) like Charles and Camilla did their adultery.
Also, that Kate would have had the decency to at least wear an off-white wedding gown.
That said, I'm going to go for optimism, hope they set a better example in the future and that the marriage is lasting and a faithful one.
Ah, the "unco guid". Do you know, she actually owns a bikini?
Looking forward to a good sneer myself when the Koran Kisser gets apotheosised before his adoring fans. Now that promises to take inappropriate vulgarity to a whole new level.
Activate what brain cells you have, and tell me how you hope to find someone who only mentions his Christian name on this blog. I could be anywhere in this whole wide world.
That said, if you can find me, you're on. But prepare for surprises! I may have a thing for chianti and fava beans :)
What is a scandal is not that they got married, but that fornication was passed off as "testing the milk" by the Archbishop of York.. When the leaders of their own church openly condone fornication, that is the true scandal.
They have no reason to repent of fornication ahead of their wedding because according to Anglican leadership, it's just fine.
Now where is THAT in Scripture?
Hence, I don't blame them. I blame the Church that misleads them.
Well, okay, but....I remember well the fetishistic media hoopla that was made about Diana's virginity, prior to her marriage. I was grossed out when her uncle had to make an announcement to declare in so many words that she was a virgo intacta.(Meanwhile, Charles was expected to have "sown his wild oats")
I agree that in an ideal world, William and Catherine would have been chaste going into their marriage. In an ideal world, everyone would be. Yet, these are two people who now must live their entire lives in a fishbowl, subject to media scrutiny and constant tabloid sensationalism. So, at least they are already settled in their relationship, and they know that they are compatible. After what William's parents went through, I can see a positive in that.
And, at least he's "made an honest woman of her" as they used to say in olden times.
Somehow I managed to miss the wedding of the millenium. However, I did enjoy an excellent show beforehand on PBS about Elizabeth's 1947 wedding to Prince Philip (from the House of Windsor series), then went to sleep.
I am pro-Princess Bea's hat. I know she's been taking a drubbing, but it was a bold move and she is young and striking enough to pull it off. Despite everything, youth still counts when it comes to aesthetics.

Jealousy is never attractive, and particularly not in women.
ReplyDeleteWhy don't you worry about the frequent sex orgies in the Vatican instead?
They're at your doorstep, so to speak.

Do you want me to beat him up for you, Hilary?
ReplyDeleteI'll bet that "Ned" / "Anonymous" is not a he but a she. Sounds like Maria Monk of old.

Greg,
ReplyDeletenah, the troll is doing a fine job of shooting himself. Why interrupt?
Nothing like a good sneer, eh?

Ok -- THEY were not perfect -- who is? Is that a reason for you to make such a fool out of yourself?
ReplyDeleteCan we please talk about something more important, like Princess Beatrice's hat? - Karen
