Yea, the sparrow hath found an house, and the swallow a nest for herself, where she may lay her young, even thine altars, O Lord of hosts, my King, and my God.
To God be the glory. At long last, a Bishop who will move us foward into our faith. I do not mean to imply that Abp. Brunett was a problem—I have not been Catholic, nor in Seattle, long enough to gain enough experience of Abp. Brunett to intend that. But I do know that we need to be thoroughly and completely rid of the legacy of Hunthausen, of whom I was (unhappily) aware even as an Episcopalian almost 40 years ago.
The Archbisop designate appears to be the straightforward and direct type of leader that this diocese so desperately needs. A shepherd of the flock who will speak the truth in love to all of us. I had enough of the opposite as an Episcopalian! I don't want to see it rear its ugly head in Holy Mother Church.
Pax et bonum, Keith Töpfer
[Aside: You can't tell that I am a fan of the current Holy Father and his emphasis on evangelization and claiming our authentic Catholic identity, can you?]
