It may all be unpleasant, even distressing; but difficult though it may be to realise it now, this present hostility is to be welcomed: it means that we are beginning once more to count for something.
The atheists’ utter loathing, all the same, is at times a little frightening in its sheer vicious irrationality. These people are in the grip of a barely restrained hysteria. Take the current issue of the New Humanist, subtitle: “Ideas for godless people”; this issue gives a good idea of what it must be like being godless, and at least it makes you grateful not to be godless yourself.
"Beginning once more to count for something."
It's a funny thing that the same burst of insanity didn't happen when JPII made his "pastoral" visit to Britain.
Can't imagine what the difference is now.
Mr. Oddie continues, "...when the Church is being faithful to her mission, this is how the world will regard her."

This could just as well apply to the now-canceled Koran burning.
ReplyDeleteOh yeah. HE CAVED ON THE KORAN BURNING. Apparently in a gambit to get the Ground Zero mosque moved.
Which it won't. (Ahnold accent) "I lied."
This whole damn world has gone insane, retarded and dhimmi. The West think it's perfectly acceptable for Muslims to murder when their widdle feewings are hurt. For all its talk of reason and dialogue, the West certainly has a peculiar dispensation for al-Islam.
Terry Jones made a point that he wasn't going to harm or murder anyone. And the whole liberal world came crashing down on him and even his ISP erased his website. The gov't would not give him a permit to burn. In a way, his loss is a "win," it shows that our liberal society is not liberal since it's shackled to the threat of Islamic violence.
Oh, and Matthew 10:28.
We need another Jan Sobieski, Charles Martel, Charlemagne, Isabella+Ferdinand, ANYONE who can meet the Islamic menace with force. Hell, even a Prince Lazar would do.
