Yea, the sparrow hath found an house, and the swallow a nest for herself, where she may lay her young, even thine altars, O Lord of hosts, my King, and my God.

Yep. Anglicans are coming into the Church in tens.
"[3] And he spoke to them this parable, saying: [4] What man of you that hath an hundred sheep: and if he shall lose one of them, doth he not leave the ninety-nine in the desert, and go after that which was lost, until he find it? [5] And when he hath found it, lay it upon his shoulders, rejoicing:
[6] And coming home, call together his friends and neighbours, saying to them: Rejoice with me, because I have found my sheep that was lost?"
I have come the conclusion that there is going to be a revolving door between Anglican and Catholic Churches that a few will pass through from time to time. As a conservative Episcopalian, who is married to a Catholic, I have considered passing through myself, but, honestly, I would be trading one set of problems for another. And, our old Victorian church is so much prettier than the Catholics modern down the road.

ReplyDeleteThe question is - was that coda a charming piece of self-mockery, or a disturbing insight into the anglican mindset?
Judging by the quality of Anonymous' posts passim, I fear it's the latter.
