Yea, the sparrow hath found an house, and the swallow a nest for herself, where she may lay her young, even thine altars, O Lord of hosts, my King, and my God.
"Wagon-chasers." Why didn't I think of that? Thanks for the link, Jane. In case this applies to you, welcome to the sunny side of the Tiber. Keep it up, and stay in touch.
"Wagon chasers" is a good phrase. Reminds me of lawyers chasing ambulances! (Smiles)
I had occasion to use "smite hip and thigh" recently. You might like to use it sometime. It means to slaughter with great carnage. Comes from Judges 15.8.
I certainly hope the GOP smites the evil Democrats hip and thigh next November!
I've visited you before, but after your visit to me - just wanted to thank you for your blog - as an English, Catholic, conservative - who is not sorry either!
In case you did not already know of it, I've been wanting to recommend to you an independent movie I fist saw last December. I't's called BORN OF HOPE, directed and produced by a young lady named Kate Madison. It can be found at the website of the same name as the film.
The plot is based on the first five paragraphs of "The Tale of Aragorn and Arwen," in Appendix A of THE LORD OF THE RINGS. Except for a very few minor quibbles, I heartily and strongly recommend the film. In my opinion, BORN OF HOPE exemplifies and honors the virtues of courage, loyalty, honor, and love in the face of ever increasing peril. Which makes it, perhaps without Miss Madison realizing it, a very CONSERVATIVE movie.
Except that it's a horrible bore with no acting, little dialogue and "cinematography" that requires quote marks...
I remember having this discussion about the dreadful piece of dreck Therese. All the Catholics went mad praising this thing to the rafters because of its subject matter alone. But it was so bad, bad acting, bad script, bad direction, that it did the exact opposite of "promoting the cause".
Thanks for your comment, even if I disagree. (Smiles)
While it might not say much good about ME, I thought the acting was excellent and the script very good. Especially because the writesr strove to stay faithful to Tolkien in both "word" and spirit.
And I thought Miss Madison did VERY well indeed with a film budget of only 25,000 pounds UK.

Quality counts.
