Dear Hilary, I am a long-time reader of your blog. I'd like to call myself a "fan" of yours and tell you what I like about your writing, but, honestly, I don't want you to change at all, so my likes are irrelevant. Now I am writing to thank you - on behalf of three other people: Most importantly, my son, who is 33 years old today. Although he is not yet Catholic, I think he will allow me to show him this video;, it might be important for him to see. I wouldn't have known about it if you hadn't shown it.
At the risk of being too long, the other person whom your blog will indirectly impact is my penpal from England...we will be meeting for the first time in 50 years of correspendence. I now suspect she is on the opposite side of the political spectrum, that which you lambaste so well. This meeting ought to be fun. Third, I teach several Bible studies in our local (liberal) diocese. As a Traditional Catholic, I stay pretty much under the radar, but I have noticed a growing "nostalgia" for the Catholic Church -- my doing, I hope. I have a lady who was a WWII war bride. She grew up in Italy but has lived here in the U.S. ever since. She so much loves the photos of Italy that you show all of us, and she is drawn back to the Catholic faith of her youth. Thank you so much.
