Thought I was kidding didntcha?

Preparing the holy flames...

Today's selection: "Ecumenism", with a nice sauce of Religious Indifferentism on the side.

...and for dolce...

A few seconds of smoking...

and POOF! there it goes.

After some excellent American style hotdogs and burgers,

an appropriate end.

Are there any plans to burn the actual statue of Giordano Bruno in the Campo dei Fiori? :-)

  3. As somebody rooted in traditional Anglo-Catholicism I don't go in for indiscriminate anti-Anglican people (as opposed to anti-Anglicanism) posts.

That said as there is obviously nothing to build upon after 40 years of that 'dialogue', light up and have a hot-dog for me.

ARCIC: both sides' liberals getting together and agreeing with each other, ad nauseam. How... something.

    Burn, baby, burn.

  5. Do you need a list? Perhaps we could send you some other books for future barbeques? In return, perhaps you could tell us which books emit demonic howls as they are consigned to the flames, and which go silently into that good night. Of course, given the quality of Catholic theology recently (as Alasdair MacIntyre so memorably said, "If I were God I do not think I would want to be thought about by most Roman Catholic theologians today"), you could bbq every meal for the next decade and not run out of fuel.

  6. What Serge said. I'm a bit sad that the best, highest use of the ARCIC report is as kindling, but it is what it is.

    Have a s'more for me.

Better yet, have book burnings of your own and send me the photos and the details and I will post them.

No graham crackers in Italy. Nor Hershey bars neither.

    Backward.

Of these we gladly receive all donations.

  9. No Hershey Bars?!? Graham crackers I can sorta understand, but come on--the GIs tossed them around like Monopoly money during the Big One. I figured they'd have caught on.

Oh, and now that I have a digital camera, I'll send grilling shots. Kosnik's "Human Sexuality" sounds like a good start.

  10. At least the Anglo-Caths gave us the Anglican Breviary before the communion committed suicide on the altar of Priapus (thanks, Zach) and pantheism.
