The thing is, though,

why did the nice little monk make it the last act of his life to run up to ring a bell that appears to be warning no one?

I mean, there's obviously no one around for miles, and if you're near enough to hear the bell, the only way, anyway, that you are going to figure out what it means is to look up in time to see the water pouring over the Himalayas. So what difference does it make?

That doesn't make any sense.

You're surely not going to suggest that the movie makers put that in just because it looked cool, are you?

2012. No one knows the hour or the day. But maybe the month and the year is a different story.

  3. The film makers obviously didn't read Dorothy Sayer's "The Mind of the Maker" and so did not realize that they were making the artistic equivalent of heresy.

Sure a film has to be cool, but it also has to make sense. I spotted a technical error in that trailer, and so they are guilty of another heresy.

I do feel bad for the monk, though.
