Real. Cat-sized. Old. Everything is.. to some extent.. edible.

I, for one, welcome our Giant deep-sea Isopod overlords.

I know the correct answers to this quiz, but won't post them here so as not to spoil the fun.

What is potentially horrifying is where you find it......

Binky, you're a cheater.

This just in via email:

Without any research (no googling) I would say:

1. It is real.

2. It is microscopic. That looks like an electron-microscope image.

3. It exists now.

4. Yes you can eat it. In fact, I am guessing that we unwittingly eat many of them every day... Hope the stomach acid kills 'em.

I would say it eats people, or at least, little flakes that fall off people.

Cheater? Nassty hobbitses!

To be clear, I did know the stuff about the bug. Sorry to spoil anybody else's fun. As penance, here's a Binks-made graphic, via Despair.com...

OK, I cheated too. But anon is wrong and we should refer to deep-sea Isopod underlords.

(If I hadn't cheated, I would have said it was a flea.)
