Yea, the sparrow hath found an house, and the swallow a nest for herself, where she may lay her young, even thine altars, O Lord of hosts, my King, and my God.

Role Reversal
What's wrong with this picture?
The Bishop of Genoa and president of the Italian episcopal conference voiced his "total disapproval" of Euro MP Mario Borghezio's vow to "defend Christianity against profanation by Islam"
I'm inclined to agree with you, and was disappointed when I read the article. Bagnasco is known as a friend of the TLM, and publicly supported Summorum Pontificum. From the little I know of him (from here in Pennsylvania) I thought he might be good papabile.
I went on though to google Borhezio and found he's been fined for beating a Moroccan child, and charged with burning the belongings of some homeless people in Turin.
While maybe good on the need for a new Crusade, he sounds like he might be a lout. That may be the reason Cardinal Bagnasco felt it necessary to distance himself from him.

Interesting context above.
ReplyDeleteBut is the general squishiness a crisis of faith or of masculinity?
