Yea, the sparrow hath found an house, and the swallow a nest for herself, where she may lay her young, even thine altars, O Lord of hosts, my King, and my God.

The Lady of the Green Kirtle
Did I ever mention that I think Enya's music is demonic?
Hmm, Enya has proven to be one of my earliest and most consistent sources of musical comfort in a pretty noisy and messy world. Demonic is a rather weighty and serious word, is it not? I can think of far more demonic music... if you're speaking in jest, forgive my over-reaction:-) peace
oh, ok, then. I guess my discernment of spirits must operate a little differently when it comes to music, then...hope England is treating you well. I do miss it:-/ peace
Yes, yes, yes. As usual, you're absolutely right. I once went out with a (liberal Catholic) girl who slushed around in it habitually, but especially when feeling down about something (me, usually). It used to give me the screaming horrors. I would rush home and rinse out my head with a Brandenburg Concerto.
BTW Hilary, I finally worked out why I was having such a hard time being a Catholic. I'm not one. I'm being chrismated in the Orthodox Church before the end of Great Lent, God willing. I will probably close down The Undercroft "officially", as it were, for the sake of letting old friends know where its ruminations lead.

Hmm. Been good background music for me for a long time. Silly sometimes. So, when is it worse? Dare I ask.

I think I droned on about it on the Evil Trads e-list a couple of years ago.
ReplyDeleteI might dig up those posts and say more.
I AGREE. - Karen
ReplyDeleteEnya gave me the creeps even before I knew Latin...for some reason, her music seems fair and feels foul.

Can't stand Enya. Bleh!
ReplyDeleteAnd, I hate when I'm abroad and someone finds out I'm Irish and then inevitably -- Ooooh! I love Enya!
Bleh! :-|

ReplyDeleteBased on what little I know I've always rather liked her. (Ducking.) Then again I've not heard her have a go at Latin.
