Lord, my heart is not haughty, nor mine eyes lofty: neither do I exercise myself in great matters, or in things too high for me.
I saw this docco in which the people of a small village in India sent their girls off to the city to become prostitutes. They would send the money back to the village , where the extended family spent all day just talking amongst themselves ( no need to work ) and when the girl prostitute slaves returned home to the village they were shunned by their family for being dirty prostitutes . I think the truth here is the fact that poverty corrupts peoples morals , often religion gives them justification . Recently I saw some film of dogs in China being skinned alive to produce fur products . There is so much " bad" in the world and the Western Powers are not so clean and wholesome , not even the Catholics . Bugger it all , concentrate on drawing its simple and pure , and good escapism from the ugly world of tyranny .
Unfortunately, it's kind of my job to keep track of these things.
This is heartbreaking. I don't know how many times I have seen documentaries about this sort of thing. How many times in a girl's life will she be sold? Not sure how any Western gov't could change this sort of thinking. Maybe we could have those Wall Street Protesters go over there and protest this.
Government can't. What is needed are Christian missionaries who are willing to risk death to save these people's souls. This culture can only be saved by being Christianised.
