Yep, that was them...


I can't believe how SPOT on this is.

I write a lot here about how I was raised by a pack of weird hippies my mother got hooked up with in the 70s, but truthfully, I had more or less forgotten what they are really like.

It looks as if they're still out there.

I think we have that bookstore here in Ann Arbor, too, but I'm not sure -- I've never had to go that badly when downtown.

That bookstore actually a real "wimmin's" bookstore here in Portland. I think those ladies are actual clerks... not that I've ever been inside, but you can't miss them through the big windows.

I saw this the day after Roger Abbott's death was announced. North America can do some very funny stuff indeed.

Thanks for the link to Portlandia -this is classic. This is my first time on your blog and I read some other posts. Wow, you don't pull any punches. I can (now) agree with your anti-hippy sentiments. I got involved with all that nonsense for 20 years (ages 15-35), but was lucky that I had a good upbringing to fall back on (and a devout Anglican grandmother praying for me).
