Do not still drink only water, but use a little wine for thy stomach's sake, and thy frequent infirmities.
11/11/2010 I think... But a double-amen and thanks for the reminder. Tom
the eleventh hour, of the eleventh day of the eleventh month. 11 am, November 11th. Not raised in a Commonwealth country, were you.
The Commonwealth of Massachusetts doesn't count I suppose. Nice remembrance and thanks to your family for their service.Tom
Thanks for this. My country Australia had 323000 in a totally volunteer army ,of which 68000 lie buried in gallipoli,New Guineau, flanders,Mesopotamia(iraq),and the Middle East. 150 British and 250Australian soldiers re buried this year at fromelles, in Blessed ground,94 years after they died is a stark remindner that this War is still with us.My wife had a great uncle who died on the Western front in the Battle of Moquet Farm- he was Missing in Action-perhaps he lies buried with the epitaph "here lies an Australian soldier of the great war -known unto God"although we have Anzac day which is ourely an Aussie and Kiwi celebration,Remembrance Day at the 11th hour on the 11th day of the 11th month is still commemorated here-it links us to the Commonwealth.
