Cognitive Dissonance

Fr. Blake gives this little note about cultural perceptions of men.

"Psychology is hate, at least as it is practiced in western culture." I wonder how many young men who have been through the seminary psychobabble mincing machine, invariably run by these "nurturing" females, would agree.

When I listened to this video, I paused for a moment to give a list of things that popped into my head to complete the second sentence...
"...small minded, petty, boring, manipulative, vindictive, vain, self-serving, illogical, emotion-driven, self-aggrandizing professional victims."

I used to wonder why I didn't get on with the cool kids in high school. Of course, in school, the sexes are usually naturally self-segregating and the "cool kids" in question were girls. It took me many years to notice that my friends in school were mostly boys and as a grown-up, men. It took quite a few more to realise that the very few women I had as friends, real friends that is, people I actually trusted with the inside part of me, were also women who mostly had men as friends. They are also, nearly invariably, those women who have seen through the feminist trap.

I won't venture to judge whether it is feminism that has made women so unpleasant, in the way that spoiling a child will make him into a monster, or whether women are naturally this way, but in our times, with feminism as ubiquitous as smog in a city, I think the question is moot.

I don't think it is about hating men, actually; I think it's about hating the normal human being. Normal women who are oriented towards relationships and not achievement have already been pathologized nearly out of existence. Women are weaker and it was more easily done and more easily hidden under cover of liberation. Consider the following two cases. One: a housewife is encouraged to destroy her tender feelings towards her children, her erotic feelings towards her children, and her satisfaction in domestic work, and seek compensatory satisfaction in becoming a paralegal or something. Two: a man's adulterous wife removes the children from the family home and marshals the full coercive power of the modern surveillance state to steal part of his income for more than a decade. There is just no way to spin that second case as liberation. The attack on manhood and fatherhood has always had to be an overt attack and as such is more obviously ugly. But modern people hate women too, when we function as women.

Well, don't forget that women compete with other women, sometimes to an insane degree. Women don't fight men for the available bachelors, women's scholarships, being The Only (and Therefore Special) Woman in a male-dominated group, etc.

I imagine there were hypercompetitive women doing down other women for advantage before feminism, too.

I don't think women are any meaner to other women than men once they reach adulthood. ( I agree it is different for girls in the middle school years) I have four children, one is a boy, and he had to work just as hard to find like minded friends as the girls did. I think it is just hard to find good, mature people of either sex.
